Top 10 Things You Should Know About, and Check Often:
1.) Test for Safety: GFCI receptacles, smoke and caron monoxide detectors, dead bolts, outdoor lights and motion.
2.) The number one fire hazard and water damage risk for your home: Clean dryer vent and check washing machine water supply lines.
3.) Exercise: (turn off and on) plumbing shutoff valves under sink.
4.) Efficiency: Clean refrigerator drain pan and condenser coil.
5.) Drain a few gallons of water from the water heater. Test relief valve on water header (NOTE: if you haven’t done this before, be prepared for the valve to stick in the open position).
6.) Freshen up disposer: Grind a cut-up lemon and then some ice cubes in garbage disposal.
